GROW WITH US

Volunteer

  • We believe in learning through experience, and forming relationships of reciprocity and mutual aid.

Our work parties are a great way for anyone to learn practical skills needed to manage your own edible, regenerative garden, while helping our very small team managing the on-farm work through crucial moments in the growing season.

They are also a great opportunity to meet like-minded volunteers and work with uncommon or rare plant varieties.

Work parties are held regularly during growing season and are open to members and non-members alike.

To be notified of upcoming work parties and other opportunities to get involved, send us an email through our contact page.

  • There are currently only two people devoting themselves to RSF on a full-time basis, so we are wearing many hats!

Having the support of specialized volunteers — whether your interest or expertise is in digital media, tax preparation, construction, web development, or event planning — will make a world of difference to us as we lay the foundation for RSF to self-sustain far into the future.

College students and recent graduates can also join us more formally as interns. Learn more about our volunteer opportunities here.

  • Perhaps you don’t have cash to donate and are unable to volunteer with us on-farm. We understand! There may still be ways that you can help sustain our mission.

We are always looking for farm and garden tools (such as hoses and hose reels, sprinklers or drip irrigation equipment, wheelbarrows, shovels, and pruning shears) as well as lumber, seed saving equipment, and inputs like compost & mulch. Do you have an old refrigerator or deep freezer we could use for seed storage? Or an old storage shed you’d like hauled away?Contact us!

Businesses can also support our cause by providing tax-deductable in-kind contributions. This could include services such as any of the physical objects listed above, as well as legal advice, tax preparation assistance, copywriting and editing, soil sample analyses, and more.

Finally, in order to sustain ourselves long-term, we are in search of other potential sites to expand Rhythm Seed Farm across the Portland Metro Area (including SW Washington). Whether you are interested in transferring ownership of a parcel of land outright, or have an underutilized backyard space we could lease long-term, if you have a half an acre or more please let us know!
